National Lottery Community Fund: Creativity as a Pathway to Well-being

Creative Collaboration with Heavy Sound CIC

As part of our ongoing National Lottery Community Fund project, Shorelark Arts CIC is excited to be working in partnership with Heavy Sound CIC to deliver a series of creative workshops for young people.

The first sessions, held in March, provided the young participants with an opportunity to slow down, connect with their imagination, and experience a moment of mindful creativity. The focus was on exploration, utilising a wide range of mixed media materials and texture-making techniques to experiment and engage in play.

It was inspiring to see how quickly the young people engaged with the process, producing bold, colourful, and imaginative artworks that truly reflected their unique perspectives. The atmosphere was relaxed and supportive, allowing each individual to express themselves freely and confidently through art.

These artworks will form the basis for an exciting new project: transforming selected pieces into greeting card designs that can be professionally photographed and printed for Heavy Sound CIC. It’s been a joy to witness the pride and enthusiasm the young people have brought to the studio!

We’re looking forward to the next round of workshops and can’t wait to see where their creativity takes them next.
