Chinese Dragon and Koi @ The Cockenzie Hub

Join us for a relaxing two days of watercolour and mixed-media (inks, gouache, charcoal, pastels and texture mediums) at the Shorelark Studio in Cockenzie.

Folklore & Fantasy

Inspired by the Year of the Dragon and the Chinese folk tale of the Koi swimming the Yellow River, this workshop is suitable for all levels, including beginners, and all materials are included.

Attend one or two days (10% discount offered for the two-day option).

  • Saturday 21st Sept (10:00-16:00)

  • Sunday 22nd Sept (10:00-16:00)

Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Eastern folklore and learn to capture the essence of dragons and koi fish, symbols of power, perseverance, and transformation.

This workshop will guide you through various watercolour and mixed-media techniques, including using a Gelli plate for dynamic prints.

You can enjoy plenty of support and encouragement from Kat Healy in a bright, friendly community studio.

Light refreshments will be available throughout the weekend, but please bring a packed lunch as we'll have a short break at 12:30 (or enjoy a stroll to the cafe next door).
