Advent Podcast Series from Kat Healy: Week 1

Advent Podcast Series from Kat Healy: Week 1

We're delighted to share the new podcast series from singer-songwriter Kat Healy in support of her upcoming EP release, 'Advent'.

Advent Song with Kat Healy: Week 1

This is a short, reflective series around the theme of Advent, using a mixture of memories and music as a way to engage with everyone near and far during these challenging times this winter.

It features Verse 1 & Chorus of the Advent song, 'Light the Advent Candle (Advent Song)' by Mary Lu Walker (1975), as well as a reading of the winter-inspired poem, 'Spell Bound' by Emily Brontë.

I can't promise a song and a poem will change anything about the frustration and challenges that come with the experience of a pandemic. But I can promise you that I have sung from my heart, pouring as much goodwill and joy into the music as possible, in the hope that it reaches you and anyone you share it with, with a genuine burst of kindness. I've always thought of music and creativity as a way to connect with others. Humans need connection to thrive, and right now, we lack in it. We are missing our usual festive gatherings and social engagements – and so, so much more. This is my way of reaching out to you, connecting, as humanly as possible." (Kat Healy, 29th November 2020)

We hope you enjoy the series and that you'll join us in a period of reflection during this season of Advent.

You can download/print the lyric to 'Light the Advent Candles (Advent Song)' here (SONG LYRIC), and find the chords here (CHORD CHART) which you can alter to any key you prefer. Enjoy!
